Women of Distribution

April 14, 2025 - April 15, 2025

Women of Distribution Group (Scheduled)

Program Summary:
Women of Distribution is a “Best Practices” group meeting specifically designed for women in leadership roles within dealer and distributor networks.  The goal of the group is twofold:

  • identify and close performance and financial gaps through the use of the Currie Financial Model; and
  • executive leadership development.

The group meets twice per calendar year and is open for participants to join at any time.  The two-day intensive program covers various topics and provides participants with a forum where they can learn, brainstorm and problem-solve with other high-achieving women.

This meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 14 & Tuesday, April 15 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Tuesday 8:30 AM – 5 PM

  • Introductions
  • Currie Financial Model
  • Strategies & Tactics for Improvement
  • “State of the Company” presentations

Wednesday 8:30 AM – 12 PM

  • “State of the Company” presentations, continued if necessary
  • Idea Exchange
  • Commitments
  • Parking Lot Item Discussion

Below are expanded descriptions of the group agenda items/topics:

Resource Share: An opportunity to share a recommended resource with the group.  In this meeting our resource share is TBD. We will select a book, podcast, movie, show, or other resources before the next Women of Distribution meeting based on the input and recommendations of the group.

Profiles of Leaders in Service: A case study of a famous female leader and her contributions to society.

National Economic Outlook: A discussion on Currie’s view of the economy, how your organization may be impacted, and what business leaders should act on, as a result.

State of the Company: Prior to the meeting, each participant will prepare and upload a presentation outlining the State of their Company (template provided).  Two topics are covered within each presentation:

  • Overall Financial Results
  • Focused Financial Performance Gap
  • Significant Changes
    • Implemented (recently)
    • Planned
  • Major Anxieties & Critical Challenges

These presentations spark meaningful discussion among the group including insight from those who have been through similar struggles or experiences.  Strategies and tactics are brainstormed and discussed so that participants walk away with practical, actionable ideas to improve their organizations.

Idea Exchange:  Participants each present an idea for the group to implement in each of their organizations based on the struggles/areas of opportunity identified during discussions at the meeting.  The group determines a winner for “best idea” (often participants bet a small wager and whoever produces the best idea also wins the pool)!

Commitments:  Each participant commits to a high-priority action item(s) to work on before the next meeting.  Making these commitments among the group creates accountability and offers an opportunity to report back to the group the results, lessons learned, etc.

Parking Lot Items:  Topics identified during the meeting that the group would like to discuss further.
